Originally started as companion to my portfolio site, nothing wrong with that idea but feeling quite strongly that it may be better suited to another purpose. It currently rides high on Google for Liverpool Photographer searches so maybe a photo library or community site? I’d be pleased to hear any suggestions anyone has.

Today finally saw me pay a visit to the Open Eye Gallery in its new home down at Mann Island. Sadly I missed the opening Mitch Epstein show as I was out of the country, however I particularly enjoyed today’s Simone Lueck exhibition, whilst the Richard & Famous exhibition was a most entertaining look at celebrity culture.
Upstairs is the Archive Exhibition, which currently has a collection of Martin Parr’s ‘painted photographs’. The collection of found press and publicity images of stars have been ‘painted’ by magazines and contain notes and crop marks.

Read MoreOn Sunday 11th April I was involved in the NorthernNET Four Hour Film Challenge at the FACT Cinema and Art Gallery in Liverpool. The event taking place simultaneously in Leeds, Liverpool and Newcastle challenged 15 teams of film makers to produce a 4 minute film in just four hours. The movies had to be shot, edited and delivered in the allotted time. The movies are then transmitted via the MAB’s (Media Access Bureau) to be screened to the live audiences in each city.
A panel of judges spread across the three cities will then debate via a live satellite link to award a trophy to best film, actress and actor. Here are just a few of the many shots from the day.
